Dahle to serve last day
Nov. 20, 2012 — Assemblyman elect Brian Dahle will serve his last day as a member of the Lassen County Board of Supervisors, Tuesday, Nov. 27.
Dahle, who handily defeated Redding City Councilmember Rick Bosetti for the District 1 seat in the California State Assembly on the Nov. 6 presidential election, announced he will take the oath of office in Sacramento Dec. 3.
Dahle, who served four terms (16 years) as the county supervisor from District 4, made the announcement during the unagendized reports portion of the meeting.
He received a round of applause and congratulations from those in attendance after making his announcement.
He said he would miss the county’s Christmas party, but he looked forward to serving the people of Lassen County once he takes office in Sacramento.
While he also requested $2,500 from his discretionary fund go to the Big Valley Recreation District, he said was leaving money in the account for incoming District 4 Supervisor Aaron Albaugh.
“I’ve got some darned big shoes to fill,” Albaugh said about succeeding Dahle following his election in the June primary election. “I knew that going in if I was elected because Brian’s done an outstanding job and he’s very well respected … I just hope I can have a positive influence like Brian did and keep things going smoothly and efficiently. That’s kind of been my goal I campaigned on. I hope to fulfill my wishes and everybody’s dreams. That’s what everybody else wants to see, too.”
