Nov. 15, 2012 — Lassen County Chamber of Commerce’s annual A Magical Country Christmas celebration will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1 in Historic Uptown Susanville.  Main Street will be closed to vehicle traffic from Weatherlow Street up to N. Pine Street.

Santa’s grand entry parade is scheduled for 6 p.m. Live music and dance numbers will be performed on Main Street throughout the evening. Uptown merchants will stay open, allowing people to stop in and shop.

There will be various vendors selling food and beverages along Main Street. Lassen Ale Works at the Pioneer Saloon will have hot cocoa and special hot drinks available. (Remember only people 21 and older are allowed inside the establishment.)

The Elk’s Lodge will offer a taco feed, hot chocolate and apple cider.  After Santa tours in the parade he will be available to meet with children in the Grand Lodge Room at the Elk’s Lodge.

Toys for Tots volunteers will be collecting items in front of the Elks Lodge from 8 a.m. to about 9 p.m. that same day.

The finale of the celebration is a grand fireworks display launched at approximately 6:30 p.m. from the Susanville Elks Lodge at the top of Main Street.

For more information and to apply to enter a float in the parade, call the Chamber at 257-4323.
