Mallery defeats Burns in judge’s race

Nov. 12, 2012 — All but 83 pending provisional ballots have been counted by the Lassen County Clerk’s Office, and they are not enough to change the final results of the hotly contested Lassen County Superior Court Judge’s race.

Susanville attorney Tony Mallery won election by collecting nearly 1,400 more votes than Lassen County District Attorney Bob Burns.

Mallery garnered 5,902 votes (56.6 percent) while Burns garnered 4,537 votes (43.5 percent).

He's bad enough as a DA, thank goodness he didn't make judge!

Good deal. Not let's recall Burns from his position as Lassen Co. DA.

It will not be long before those who did not vote for Mr. Mallery will understand. He will be a fair, unbiased judge. He will not be part of the dark system that has prevailed in this county for so long. A Lassen County "breath of fresh air" has just reached the court house.

There is a wave of change overcoming Lassen County. Too many good people have been sent packing and we have suffered by their loss. Remember Tom Stone. It doesn't matter if you are a local or a flat-lander, our survival relies on our goodness.

Well, I figure there is a reason the Governor overlooked Burns as a Judge previously and Verderosa was appointed instead...
