Mallery leads in judge’s race

Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012 — Susanville attorney Tony Mallery leads Lassen County District Attorney Robert Burns by nearly 1,000 votes in the hotly contested Lassen County Superior Court Judge race. According to vote counts released by the Lassen County Clerk’s Office about 10 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, Mallery collected 4,544 votes to Burns' 3,548.

In the Lassen County Board of Education race, Bruce A. Davie collected 1,708 votes, Todd Swickard collected 1,570 and Dan Owens collected 1,493.

Linda Bradford garnered 117 votes, Sharon Hunter garnered 99 votes and William H. Stegall garnered 96 votes in the Shasta Board of Education race.

Buck Parks collected 3,407 votes and Dan White collected 3,244 votes in the Lassen Community College Board of Trustees race.

Kenneth Theobald garnered 2,666 votes, Michelle Zubillaga garnered 2,434 votes, Jeff Atkinson garnered 2,401 votes and Fredrick Autenr garnered 1,451 votes in the Lassen Union High School Board of Trustees race.

Lynda E. Joseph earned 425 votes, Sean Baldwin earned 401 votes and Everett Heard earned 303 votes in the Schaffer Elementary School District Board of Trustees race.

Shirley Barber collected 206 votes, Crystal E. Johnson collected 181 votes, Marsha Street collected 167 votes, Jim Galloway collected 141 votes, David Yeates collected 137 votes, Chris Graham collected 81 votes and Bruce Austin Watkins collected 50 votes in the Westwood School District Board of Trustees race.

Norman Shepherd collected 915 votes, Tom Mower collected 852 votes, John Wilczynski collected 819 votes and James Hardy collected 780 votes in the Susan River Fire District race.

Measure V, the Spalding Community Services District Tax earned 75 no votes and 65 yes votes.

Measure W, the Lassen Library District Tax garnered 4,538 no votes and 3,496 yes votes.

State races

Republican Ted Gaines earned 5,878 votes to Democrat J. Griffith-Flatter’s 2,140 votes in Lassen County.

In the California District 1 Assembly race, Lassen County Supervisor Brian Dahle garnered 6,016 votes to Redding City Councilmember Rick Bosetti’s 1,737 in Lassen County.

National races

Republican Mitt Romney garnered 5,609 votes to Democrat Barack Obama’s 2,401 in Lassen County voting. National news media predict Obama carried the state of California and the Electoral College, winning another term as president of the United States.

Republican Elizabeth Emken won the top spot in the U.S. Senate race with 5,681 votes to Democrat Dianne Feinstein’s 2,483 in Lassen County voting.

Republican Doug LaMalfa collected 5,559 votes compared to 2,485 votes for Democrat Jim Reed in Lassen County.

Wow what a great thing to see first thing in the morning. I think Bob will be fine not a loss for him he is still in a great spot but what a great boost for Lassen to have Tony in for Judge!

glad burns didn't get judge. But we still need him out of the DA. I wouldn't trust him to make a wopper let alone any decision that involves peoples lives.
