Mommy and Me group holding coat drive
Nov. 3, 2012 — The Susanville Mommy and Me group is collecting coats to give to families who might not be able to afford them.
According to Chelsea Stovall, of the local Mommy and Me group, people can donate coats and jackets of all sizes — from infants to adults. Donations need to be clean and new or gently used.
Donation boxes can be found at Susanville IGA, Walmart, which is pending approval, and at the Honey Lake Valley Assembly of God Church (HLVA) at 464-905 Standish-Buntingville Rd (A-3) in Janesville.
Stovall said the goal is to collect 250 coats.
Coats will be distributed from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at HLVA.
If you have any questions, call Stovall at 249-3919.
According to Stovall, the Susanville Mommy and Me group is for mothers of young children, older children, empty-nesters or women wanting to be a mom. The group provides a place for women to socialize with other adults as well as doing activities with the children.
The group meets at 9 a.m. the second Friday of every month at HLVA, but there are also activities offered throughout the month.
