Beta Mu Master Sorority hosts ravioli dinner fundraiser
Wednesday, Oct. 9 — The Beta Mu Master Sorority — a local chapter of Beta Sigma Phi — is once again offering up a homemade ravioli dinner from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12 at the Monticola Club, 140 S. Lassen St., Susanville.
According to the sorority president, Connie Stovall, this year is special because the group is raising funds to present the inaugural Billie Paulson Memorial Scholarship to a Lassen County high school senior who will attend Lassen Community College after graduation.
Stovall said Paulson — a beloved member of the sorority who passed away in September 2012 — came up with the idea of the fundraising dinner last year after she tasted Stovall’s homemade raviolis.
Proceeds from the second annual dinner will go toward the Paulson scholarship as well as the group’s many community service projects, which include donations to the Blue Star Moms, helping individuals in need and more.
The dinner menu includes homemade meat ravioli, vegetarian ravioli, spaghetti, garlic bread, salad, homemade desserts, water, iced tea, wine and coffee. The cost is $17.50 per person ($35 for two). Seating is limited and presale tickets are advised because last year the group sold out.
