Vote-by-mail ballots being sent this week

Monday, Oct. 8 — Lassen County Clerk Julie Bustamante would like to inform voters that vote-by-mail ballots and the sample ballot booklets for the Nov. 6 general election will be mailed the week of Oct. 8. Bustamante urges voters to watch for the official election mail logo displayed on envelopes indicating the material was sent from an official state or local election official.

If election material is not received by Oct. 19, voters are urged to  contact the county clerk’s office at 251-8217.

Election materials cannot be forwarded by the US Postal Service and will not be received if the election’s office does not have your current address!

Voters are reminded to check the back of the sample ballot booklet because they may receive their ballot in the mail or their polling location may have changed. The booklet also contains a tear-out application for a vote-by-mail ballot. If you wish to vote-by-mail, the application must be returned to the county clerk’s office by Tuesday, Oct. 30.

To save your tax dollars and meet federal accessibility requirements, many precincts are now vote-by-mail. If you receive a vote-by-mail ballot, do not throw it away. You will not have a designated polling place on election day.

Ballots can be returned in person or by mail to the election office, located in the Historical Courthouse, at 220 S Lassen St, Suite 5, in Susanville; or at any polling location in Lassen County on election day.

Ballots must be received before 8 p.m. on election day or they will not be counted. A post mark is not sufficient. Polling locations can be found on the registrar of voter’s website at:lassencounty.org. (Select "Elections" from the left side navigation bar.)

If you have any questions feel free to contact the county clerk’s office at 251-8217.

Do you mean you can't vote if the registrar does not have your correct address? Horrible case of vote suppression!!!
