ISRAELI FOLK DANCE CLASS
J and J Performing Arts is now hosting a Worship Dance Class. This is Christian worship dance with an Israeli folk dance flavor, and will include traditional Israeli folk dance steps set to a variety of styles of worship music. The classes are for adults and children ages 8 and up when accompanied by an adult. There will be a free trial class from 10 to 11 a.m. Oct. 24. WARM AND TASTY NEW ITEMS
With winter just around the corner, Tammi Montgomery, owner of Primo Deli in Uptown Susanville, is already beginning to serve soups, chili and more. You will find clam chowder on Fridays, chili on Wednesdays and be sure and check out her lasagna on Mondays. For the high school students she offers a terrific special. TICKETS FOR K9 UNIT
Animal Lover Monte Kielty, of Treats Dog Company, has been working very hard with the Lassen County Sheriff's office to ensure Lassen County has a K9 unit. Tickets are now on sale for a drawing, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the K9 efforts. The drawing is for a Henry Golden Boy 22 rifle (first place), and a Sportdog 800 remote training collar. Tickets can be purchased for $10; there are only 500 tickets being sold. You can buy your tickets at Treats Dog Company or Honey Lake Firearms in Susanville. Some deputies will have tickets for sale, as well. The drawing will be held Oct. 27.
NEW STYLIST AT HAIR HUNTERS
Heather Marsh, owner of Hair Hunters, is pleased to welcome hairstylist Jeanette Zielen to the salon. Jeanette has 30 years of experience in the industry. She recently relocated full-time to Susanville from Mt. Shasta. She specializes in cuts and color. Jeanette is available Tuesday through Thursday; you can call the salon today for your appointment.

SPAGHETTI DINNER FUNDRAISER
The Diamond Willow room at the Diamond Mountain Casino will be host to a fundraiser dinner for David Williams, 13, who was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma cancer in April 2012. The dinner is scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4. Money raised from this event will go toward David’s medical expenses. If you are unable to make the dinner but would like to make a donation, an account has been set up for David at U.S. Bank.
