PICO’S PIZZA NOW OPEN

Pico’s Sourdough Pizza is a family owned restaurant located at 2212 Main St. in the old New York Pizza building. They feature handmade sourdough crust and homemade Mexican food by Margarita Palomino, left, who owned Margarita’s Mexican Restaurant here in Susanville in the ‘90s. Co-owners Jaime Dominguez (not pictured) and Miguel Dominguez, right, invite you to come sample something delicious from their extensive menu selection. REFINER'S FIRE COMING TO SUSANVILLE

This Friday evening at 7 p.m., Craig Harris and the group “Refiner's Fire” will be performing at Susanville Church of the Nazarene on Spring Ridge Road (by the hospital). You can purchase tickets at the door or online at sirrahgroup.org. Fifty percent of ticket sale revenues go toward the local ministry of the Church of the Nazarene.

 

NEW AWANA CLUB BEGINS

Pastor Rick Conrad, of Community Church, informs us the new Awana Club year starts Tuesday, Sept. 4. It's for children in 3rd to 5th-grade. You can register at the church office, 110 N. Gay St., or call them at 257-2924. Classes will be held at their new church location, 1400 Numa Road in Susanville.

 

FESTIVAL, ALUMNI REUNION

Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy a day of fun for the whole family. Moonlight Bar & Grill in Westwood is hosting the first Westwood Stock Festival and Westwood High School Alumni Reunion. The fun is set from noon to 2 a.m. this Saturday, Sept. 1. There will be three bands, dancing, a horseshoe tournament, craft booths, a bounce house and food and drink specials. Join Bridgett and Tim Bustamante at their festival and reunion.

 

SHEEHY REUNION

For you longtime residents who remember the musical harmonies of Doug and Dave Sheehy, mark your calendar to head on over to the Main Street Bowl Aug. 31 to hear these talented musicians.

“I’m excited my brother is coming in from Arizona to play this event, and we look forward to seeing many of our old friends and new ones at this gig,” said Sheehy.

The music runs from 8 p.m. until midnight.

 

LABOR DAY AT EAGLE LAKE

Mariner's Resort on the north shore of Eagle Lake is celebrating Labor Day with a Luau Pig Party. This day of family fun is set to begin at 1 p.m. with the Luau party going until 5 p.m. Then at 8 p.m., live music will be provided by "The Lady & The Tramp," of Virginia City.
