The Susanville Grocery Outlet is bringing in a lot of gluten-free products and even more organic produce. They now have one of the largest selections of micro-brews, and even some organic beers. Owners Andrew and Carrie Baum remind us they even carry propane and ice for those days you're heading to the lake, or just barbecuing around the house.
PIZZA FUNDRAISER
The soon-to-be graduating eighth grade class at Richmond School is having a fundraiser this Thursday, May 3 at the Susanville Pizza Factory. Thanks to owner Jeff Chew, the class will get 10 percent of the sales that day to use toward their eighth-grade trip. What a great time to take the whole family out for lunch or dinner.
TWO PROMOTED TO VICE PRESIDENT
Angela Pehrson has been promoted to vice president, human resources manager and Elizabeth Steffen to vice president, technology resources manager at Plumas Bank.
Angela joined the bank in 2006 and received her professional human resources certification in 2010. Her responsibilities include developing and maintaining corporate HR policies, ensuring compliance and enhancing employee growth and productivity.
Elizabeth joined the bank in 2009. She manages network administration, eBanking and the customer resource center. She is accountable for directing and ensuring the effective, efficient and secure operation of all technological functions of the bank. She received her bachelor of science degree in business administration/ information systems and her master’s in technology management from the University of Phoenix.

CAR WASH AND BAKE SALE
The Shaffer School 8th-grade class of 2012 is holding a car wash and bake sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 6 in the IGA/Susanville Supermarket parking lot. All donations will go directly to help with the cost of their end-of-year trip to the San Francisco Bay Area. Come out and enjoy a sweet treat while your car gets clean!
ZUMBA FITNESS PARTY
New Image Racquetball and Fitness Center is hosting a Cinco de Mayo Fitness Party from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, May 4. There will be raffle prizes and lots of fun!
