Biz News for April 17, 2012
Dan Brown at Bicycle Bananas tells us he’s got lots of special bike rides planned for this summer.
“If you’ve ever wanted to explore the mountain trails, but were afraid to ride alone, these weekend day rides are a perfect opportunity for riding enthusiasts of all skill levels to be healthy while enjoying the beauty that surrounds us,” said Brown.“We’ve even planned group rides for Sunday afternoons so you can attend church and then get outdoors afterwards.”
If you’ve got a bike, now is the time to get it properly serviced and tuned up for the trails. If you don’t own one, head to Uptown Susanville and let the specialists at Bicycle Bananas fit you with a bike to match your skill level and riding goals.
ALCOHOL AWARENESS MONTH
Lassen County Alcohol and Other Drug Department tells us April is Alcohol Awareness Month and as part of it, they want to remind parents it’s never too early to talk to your chidren about the dangers of substance use and abuse. If you are concerned your child may be experimenting with alcohol or drugs, they offer resources to parents and students to encourage a positive, proactive approach to these issues. Don’t be fooled into thinking it’s cool to provide alcohol to kids in your home. Individuals contributing or purchasing alcohol for minors can face serious fines and legal penalties.
