Oct. 26, 2011 — The Westwood High varsity volleyball team opened up play in the Pioneer Mountain League with several strong wins.

The Lady Jacks took on the Greenville Indians Thursday, Oct. 6 and won the match in three games, 25-13, 25-20 and 25-17.

Monday, Oct. 10, the team spent the holiday battling it out with the Chester Volcanoes.
The Lady Vols gave Westwood some trouble in the first two games and the Lady Jacks managed to win both 25-19 and 25-23.

In the third game, the Lady Jacks came out strong and won 25-11 in the determining game.

The team then traveled to Herlong to take on the Lady Vikings, Thursday, Oct. 13.
The Lady Jacks dominated in three games, 25-11, 25-11 and 25-16 to take the win.

The Lady Jacks took a trip to Loyalton, Calif., to take on the Grizzlies Thursday, Oct. 20 and won in three games, 25-22, 25-15 and 25-9.

The Lady Jacks returned home Tuesday, Oct. 25, for another meeting with the Indians. After losing the first game, 25-19, the team came back strong to win the next three games to take the match, 25-13, 25-11 and 25-19.

The Westwood High varsity volleyball team remains undefeated in league play in five games and hold an overall record of 19-3.

Next up for the team is the last home appearance of the season against the Lady Vikings, Tuesday, Nov. 1.

The game is scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m.
