MAKE A FREE VALENTINE CALL TO YOUR “TROOP”!Windjammer Cable, together with the Blue Star Moms would like to invite military family and friends to “Talk to Their Troop” from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Friday, Feb. 12, at the Windjammer office located at 235 N. Weatherlow St. You can make a call to any family member or friend, either stateside or international for free during this event. Hot cocoa and cookies will be served, drawings every half-hour for new digital phone subscribers.
LOOK FOR THE STICKERS FOR HEALTHY SNACKS
The Lassen Oral Health Task Force has joined forces with IGA/Susanville Supermarket to make it easier to choose healthy snacks for you and your children. February is National Children's Dental Health Month and IGA's national Healthy Challenge Event. Jeannie Huber (the Tooth Fairy) of the LOHTF informs us they have gone through Susanville Supermarket and put stickers throughout the store indicating Tooth Fairy approved healthy snacks for your children. These snacks will be marked throughout the month of February.
IT'S THE PERFECT TIME TO BUY A HOME
The Lassen Association of Realtors reminds us there are two different tax credits still available for homebuyers. For qualifying first time homebuyer there is an $8,000 tax credit. There is also a $6,500 tax credit available for existing homeowners who have owned their home for the last five out of eight years and want to purchase another home. NEED SOUND SERVICES FOR AN EVENT?
Tomm Williams has started a new business in the Susanville area. Williams Sound and Stage offers sound reinforcement services for musical events, car or craft shows, graduation, and grand opening events, anything that requires amplified sound. Soon they will be adding stage rentals too. If you went to the recent Ed Susanville or Swing Band events, they did the sound for those productions. Williams has state of the art equipment, like JBL, QSC, Neumann and many more. They have enough equipment and staff to operate multiple events too. CRAB FEED
The Susanville Elks Lodge is hosting its annual Crab Feed on Friday, Feb. 19 and Saturday, Feb. 20. Tickets are limited; you can contact Joe Vicondoa at Century 21 in Susanville for more information or to purchase tickets.
VALENTINE DINNER
The White House Restaurant in Janesville is the place to go for an intimate Valentine’s dinner. In addition to their many tasty menu selections, owner Tom Lim tells us they are featuring a Prime Rib special, including champagne and cheesecake for dessert.
SPEAKING OF PRIME RIB
Gary Watson of Hart’s Café is also running a prime rib dinner special this Valentine’s Day. Hart’s prime rib dinner will be available beginning Friday, Feb. 12 through Sunday, Feb. 14.
TREAT YOUR SWEETHEART
Coventry Gardens having a special event weekend! Try the afternoon tea on Feb. 13 with two seating times. On Feb. 14 bring your sweetheart to their Valentine’s dinner.
