No changes to Lassen County Board of Supervisors: Pyle, Chapman and Dahle retain
In an interview on Thursday, June 5, Pyle said most county residents spend their time working, taking kids to school and living their lives and do not get involved in politics until Election Day.
“When they come through and decide how they want policy to be. I am very happy with the results,” said Pyle, who handedly won over his challengers. Unofficial results state Pyle got 710 of the 1,249 votes cast.
Neely received 193 votes; White received 182 and Wilson received 163 votes. There was one write-in vote.
Pyle also said he wanted to thank all the people who put up signs, did the footwork and gave him advice.
“And, for those who did not support me, I will still support you,” said Pyle.
Supervisor Jim Chapman will begin his eighth term as supervisor after soundly defeating challenger Ron Wood by a 3 to 1 margin. Of the 887 votes cast, Chapman took 662 votes; Wood took 211 votes and there were 14 write-in votes.
Chapman said he wants to thank the voters who continue to express support in his job as supervisor. Chapman has been District 2 supervisor for 28 years and in the past served on the Susanville City Council, earning the right to boast about being the youngest mayor in California at the age of 19.
Chapman has dedicated himself to public service in Lassen County since 1974.
Chapman said the wealth of his experience, his “institutional memory and long-term, historical perspective” make him uniquely qualified to serve as supervisor.
Before the Tuesday, June 3 election Chapman said, “My role is to work to try to facilitate big, long-term projects
“I’ve still got a few vital years left in me to offer the voters. My agenda is the community. My passion is to work for the community, especially senior citizens. I’m trying to maximize our opportunities and make this a better place to live.”
District 4 Supervisor Brian Dahle ran unopposed and received with nearly 97 percent of the vote. There were 25 write-in votes.
