Tuesday, April 1, 2014 —Interested candidates will be testing for the new captain position at the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office with an appointment possibly being made later this month.
At the beginning of the 2012-2013 fiscal year, four of the then six sergeants at the sheriff’s office participated in an interim assignment as an acting captain allowing them to be exposed to the duties that will be expected. It also allowed the sheriff Dean Growdon to observe their ability and potential for growth.
The acting captain program is now concluded and each person will be taking a promotional exam with a potential hire being made this month.
