Make the holiday’s merrier this year

Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2014 — The holiday season is officially here, but for some it might not be met with anticipation, but possibly despair as they struggle to make ends meet and the possibility of gifts and a warm festive meal seems out of reach.

There are many organizations in Lassen County that with the community’s help, ensure everyone from the elderly to the children are provided with a merrier Christmas.

Whether you are interested in helping a senior citizen stay warm, donating food for Thanksgiving, or hosting a table for a Christmas dinner, there are plenty of opportunities to give back this year.

Locals share traditions

Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2014 — From turkey dinners and family, Lassen County residents are gearing up to celebrate the holiday dedicated to giving thanks.

Coming up this Thursday, Nov. 27, many local families and friends will be gathering together, crowding the television watching football and the Macy’s Day Parade, and of course, stuffing their faces and stomachs with delicious food.

“I’m just thankful for everything we have in our life … I’m happy that we live in the wonderful country that we do,” said resident Ellie Brown.
