Fuel reduction leads to fewer large fires

July 22, 2008 — Politicians are fiddling while our forests burn, according to the Lassen County Fire Safe Council’s managing director, Tom Esgate, who shepherds major fuel reduction projects on private land in both Lassen and Modoc counties.

July 29, 2008 — Residents within the Susan River Fire Protection District showed up in force for a public hearing discussing a special tax designed to help the efforts of the volunteer firefighting personnel in the district.
