Invenergy proposes massive LMUD upgrade

May 20, 2008 — If a deal can be struck between the Lassen Municipal Utility District and Invenergy Wind, a for-profit company that proposes to develop, build and operate a 100-megawatt wind generation project in the Horse Lake Valley near Eagle Lake, both sides can benefit.
  

Spring freeze results in fish kill at Walker Lake

May 27, 2008 — Fish may not be as plentiful at Walker Lake near Westwood as in years past, according to the California Department of Fish & Game. About 300-plus fish were killed in early April due to a depletion of oxygen in the lake, said Lieutenant Lisa Stone, who covers Lassen, Plumas and Butte counties for the Department of Fish and Game.
